Brief: 

Design/illustrate a book cover of your choosing. It needs to convey the spirit of the book as well as communicate the message by use of ‘One Main Letter’ plus any supporting graphics. 

 

Design:

I chose Laurie Lee’s As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning because this book inspired me to travel and to get to know different cultures from a young age. The design is based on the letter ‘L’ because of the author’s initials. The capital ‘L’ in the Old English font looks a bit like a cartoon figure taking a long stride, so I added cartoon feet to bring the letter to life.
