Movie Poster Design

Brief: 

We were asked to design a poster for the soon-to-be released short film The Cunning starring Gemma Arterton and Bethany Asher. The film is about a mother and daughter accused of witchcraft in 1724. The director Alexandra Maher asked for the poster to capture the three key elements of the film - Tension, Danger (Life or Death stakes) and the Supernatural.

 

Design:

I created three separate designs based on the Film Director’s preferred still images and the film notes provided to us. Her feedback for the design shown on the opposite page was as follows, “Love the simplicity and clarity. It makes striking use of the image”.
