Brief:
Design a collection of three separate patterns that can be used across multiple products, either to promote yourself, a product, designer or artist.
Design 1 of 3:
Ankara street photo design.
I took this photograph of two women in the Turkish capital Ankara several years ago.
It contains strong graphic elements so I made a graphic design from it that can be used on lady’s shopping bags, on furniture or it can be displayed as wall art.
Design 2 of 3:
Brighton & Hove pattern.
I like the way that the patterns on the seats of London’s Underground trains are based on the city’s skylines, so I created a similar pattern for the seats of Brighton & Hove’s buses where I live. It is based on local landmarks. The design can also be used in local transport offices and on uniforms.
Design 3 of 3:
Snail pattern.
This design is taken from a photograph that I took many years ago of a snail crawling along the gate in my back yard at night, framed by a street lamp. This is another photograph that has strong and simple graphic qualities that could be applied to various products when used in a pattern design.
